Lost Shore Surf Resort, situated in Ratho just outside Edinburgh, is Europe’s largest inland surfing destination and Scotland’s first artificial surf lagoon.
Opened to the public in November 2024, the £60 million facility is built within a former quarry and features a state-of-the-art Wavegarden Cove wave pool.
This technology can generate up to 1,000 customizable waves per hour, catering to surfers of all skill levels. The resort offers over 20 wave types, ensuring consistent and varied surfing experiences year-round.
Beyond surfing, Lost Shore provides a comprehensive leisure experience. Guests can stay in one of 53 luxury accommodations, including hilltop lodges and waterfront pods, some of which are fully accessible.
The resort also features a waterfront bar, café, and restaurant showcasing Scotland’s vibrant food scene. For relaxation and wellness, visitors can enjoy treatments, a sauna, and surf therapy sessions.
